              • In August 1990, somewhere on the Albreda Subdivision (mile 54?), a rock fell on top the cab of 5563.
                This pushed the roof down so much that the window frames were bent and the windows wouldn't seal properly.
              • For about a month until major repairs could be made on the cab, 5563 had steel plates welded over the window spaces.
              • The locomotive was nicknamed the "Oka Special" because of the Oka crisis that was going on at the time.
