6509 FP9A, class GPA-17a, built December 1954 repainted 20 December 1966 into special paint scheme and numbered 1967 along with repainted CP unit 1867 (former 1411), pulled the special Centennial Train across Canada in 1967 restored to CN paint and renumbered 6509 14 December 1967 retired from CN roster and transferred to VIA 31 March 1978 rebuilt by CN Pointe St Charles shops for VIA in 1984 and renumbered to VIA 6304 modified by VIA in 1997 to remove steam generator and install head end power generator based in Winnipeg and used on Churchill run sold to IFS Leasing in Saugus CA, 2002
6510 FP9A, class GPA-17a, built January 1955 retired from CN roster and transferred to VIA 31 March 1978 sold by VIA 15 December 1994 to the City of Thunder Bay for display purposes in a riverside park near present CP station; in storage at Keefer Terminal in Thunder Bay awaiting preparation of the display site
